What is a Genossenschaft?

Paramour Collective is a Registered Genossenschaft (e.G.). A Genossenschaft is a business form under German law. It is:

-Jointly owned by all members. Each member of Paramour owns one share of the company

-Democratically run. Each shareholder-member has one vote, which means they have say over all our decisions. The Board of Directors only administrates the collective. They do not make any decisions on behalf of the workers.

-Profits are shared. We collect only as much money as we need to run the collective through our booking fees. After expenses are paid, all profits are shared out equally to each member.

Vision Statement

For hundreds of years — under a variety of legal and social models — the bad working conditions of sex workers have been one of our community’s most continuous difficulties. The legal, social, financial, and cultural environments have rarely allowed us to be safe, healthy, and thriving. But it does not have to be this way. The Paramour Collective dismantles the traditional boss-worker relationship that is one of these many adverse conditions that affect sex worker health and prosperity. By being collectively owned by each and every worker, all Paramour escorts have equal voting power and an equal share in the company’s profit.

Sexual services are a very specific industry. Consent is paramount. Work structures in which the who-what-when-how of sexual services are determined by anyone other than the worker themselves creates an almost inevitable condition of the worker’s right to consent being tested or outright trampled. In addition, sex workers are extraordinarily diverse. Paramour’s unprecendented structure relocates power into the hands of each sex worker, where it always should have been.

Not only does this allow for unprecedented health and prosperity of Paramour workers; it dismantles the historical structural oppression of sex workers. The mere existence of the Paramour Collective will shift the bar of what conditions sex workers expect — and what society expects for them—because, once workers see what conditions are possible, expectations for all other workplaces will change. The status quo of oppressive, repressive, and non-lucrative conditions will become obsolete, and all businesses will be forced to change how they function. Once sex workers are liberated from an assumption that they must simply accept bad working conditions, the business models of sex work businesses that structurally exploit their workers will become economically unsustainable, weeding out the bad bosses and increasing market share for Paramour and other ethical businesses for which we have paved the way.

Once our PR strategy has succeeded, the dominant narrative that sex workers are, by definition — and must, for structural reasons, be — oppressed and suffering, will begin to lift. Stories of healthy, thriving sex workers will pave the way for a public opinion shift; once this has taken place, the inevitable consequence will be political and societal reform, resulting in an end to stigma and discriminatory regulations and practices.

Mission Statement

Paramour Collective is a worker-owned escort agency. We are the first by-all-gender, for-all-gender escort agency, offering an extremely diverse array of beautiful humans without excluding anyone on the base of gender, race, ability, “look,” class, education, services, origin, or sexual orientation. We likewise welcome clients of every description, requiring only that they have the economic and behavioral capability to sustain the working conditions that all sex workers deserve — and that Paramour Collective insists upon. This is a radical shift in the traditional sex industry market—a shift that widens our client base to demographics that previously never realized that sexual services were an option for them or didn’t have access to these services, which so many — historically, wealthy white men — have found to be such a wonderful source of recreation, relaxation, healing, transformation, and abundance.

Each of our escorts determines — as only an empowered individual can — exactly what they offer. This includes the possibility of a full range of sexual, fetish, reparative, spiritual services, and beyond. Sex workers are wonderfully innovative and imaginative when given freedom and agency. Thus, the options we can offer to clients is virtually boundless.

When working on other platforms or for other companies, many of us have experienced clients who had concerns about whether or not we were operating in our own best interest, and by our own choice. This is a very rational fear: The industry is rife with nonconsent, and exploitation exists, whether by a bad boss, a nonsensical legal system, or a coercive economic situation. For Paramour, the very format and basic structure of our business ensures that all of our workers are empowered to make choices about what’s right for them. This means that, for the first time, clients can be absolutely certain that the escort they see is acting in their own best interest and in pursuit of their own fulfillment and joy.
